Deana has fourteen years of experience teaching science in grades 7 through 12 (life science, earth science, physical science, biology, chemistry, anatomy/physiology), and she has eight years of experience tutoring 2nd grade through college freshman-level courses. Deana initially got involved in tutoring by helping her friends’ children.
Deana graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. Her original intent was to specialize in herpetology and study animals in the rain forest, but she decided to earn her teaching certificate instead. Deana loves the one-on-one aspect of tutoring, and the rapport that she develops with her clients. The best part is when the lightbulb turns on.
Deana, and her family, are outdoorsy and adventure-seeking. They love to camp, hike, kayak, and white-water raft whenever they have the opportunity. They also love to visit amusement parks to ride roller coasters in their travels. When at home, she enjoys cooking, watching movies, keeping up with her plants, and reading when she has the time. She also has a chihuahua/mutt mix that loves to camp and kayak too, but she doesn’t get to ride roller coasters or raft white-waters.
Courtney has been a tutor for the past three years, specifically working with middle school and high school aged students, and she has assisted students with many subjects. Everything from Algebra to Spanish. Courtney found a love for tutoring after she saw the impact that knowledge has on a student’s success and self-esteem. She feels like there is nothing better than seeing a student grow, and knowing that she had a part in that.
Courtney has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Her goal is to continue working with children and adolescents as she enters into this new stage of her career.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and she loves doing anything outdoors, particularly with her husband and fur baby. Courtney also likes to travel to new places and experience new things. Her dream vacation would be hiking and exploring Switzerland.
Courtney has a true passion for working with students. She understands the importance of education, and how it lays the foundation for success in adulthood. She looks forward to assisting your children in their educational endeavors!
Grace has a bachelor’s degree in Photography. Her tutoring expertise includes many subject areas – her favorite of which is math.
Grace began tutoring because of her love for math, and her desire to help those who feel it is too daunting of a subject. One of her favorite things about tutoring is seeing the student’s eyes light up when it finally “clicks,” and seeing their excitement to apply their new understanding to new problems.
Grace loves to play and watch sports, especially the National Women’s Soccer League (Go Orlando Pride!) and the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.
